Many people who travel by airplanes don’t know about all of their peculiarities. These 7 amazing and simple tips will make you feel better and more comfortable during your flight. TIMESTAMPS The seats by the window are colder 0:21 Avoid drinking coffee or tea 0:49 Tables and seat pockets are the dirtiest places on the plane 1:12 Morning is the best time for a flight 1:44 The service is better in the final rows 2:06 Don’t inflate your neck cushion to full volume 2:33 Always go with a special menu 2:49 SUMMARY - The temperature outside the cabin can fall to as low as −140°F to −149°С, which cools down the temperature of the plane’s fuselage. You can feel this external cold above all in the seats by the windows, especially during summer when you wear light clothing. - Keep in mind: the drinking water used to prepare hot beverages onboard can contain malignant bacteria such as E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Specialists who have tested the water on various airlines have reached this conclusion on more than one occasion. - Pockets on the seat back in front of you are sometimes full of trash accumulated during flights. Yep, they aren’t cleaned as thoroughly as you would expect. When it comes to the tray tables, it’s even worse! - Later flights are usually delayed because of the ‘ripple’ effects of delays throughout the day. Moreover, if you have a fear of flying, specialists claim that a degree of turbulence is reduced in the morning. - If you sit in the first rows, you will be the first to leave the plane at the end of the flight as well as get a choice of meal. On the other hand, if you pick a seat closer to the back of the cabin, you’ll more attentive service from the cabin crew! - When you take a blow-up pillow onto the plane, don’t forget about the laws of physics! If you fill it with air completely, it might burst due to the changes in pressure in the cabin! - Airlines offer a choice of different in-flight meals such as vegetarian, seafood, halal, kosher, and many others. Even if you have no particular preference, many travelers recommend going for one of the specialist meal choices. Do you have a lot of friends who travel often? Unless you've avoided television and the Internet entirely over the past few years, it has been almost impossible not to be aware of the recent dramatic and tragic airplane crashes. It's enough to make even seasoned travelers wonder if flying is getting steadily less safe. Although the past few years have featured a few high-profile crashes, if you take the long view it becomes clear that the airline industry actually has a very good safety record -- and it's getting better, not worse. According to the International Air Transport Association, in 2015 there was one commercial jet accident per 4.5 million flights. This was in line with 2014, when the number was one accident per 4.4 million flights, and better than 2013 (one accident per 2.4 million flights). In 2015 the 510 total fatalities were out of more than 3.5 billion journeys. On average you would need to fly every day for 55,000 years in order to be involved in a fatal crash. Here are 11 Things Not to Do on a Plane: Driving is the obvious first comparison, and the National Safety Council notes that your odds of dying in a motor vehicle crash are 1 in 112. Your odds of dying in a plane crash? 1 in 96,566. The National Safety Council offers these odds on other methods of dying, all of which are significantly more likely to happen than being killed in a plane crash: - Being assaulted by a firearm: 1 in 358 - Being electrocuted: 1 in 12,200 - Walking down the street: 1 in 704 - Falling: 1 in 144 - Overdosing on a prescription painkiller: 1 in 234 Further, airline safety experts believe that the industry is likely to maintain and even improve these statistics as technology improves, older fleets are replaced and developing regions such as parts of Asia strive to match the air safety record of Europe and the United States. There are a bunch of good reasons many of us remain wary of air travel, and none of them is "because we are idiots." For one, for many decades air travel really wasn't so safe. Second, studies of various types of fear have largely concluded that the fear of any activity or possibility is rarely overcome by reading statistics and lots of rational thought. Rather, our deep inclination toward self-preservation takes over, and it can be nearly impossible to turn that off. Even if we know that flying is safer than taking a bath, and even if we're aware of some of the stats and the effect of media amplification, it is still hard not to wonder if it's really safe to fly. So we will offer the single most effective tactic. Look to the leaders of the team, the flight attendants and pilots. These folks choose to do this every day, as their job. They get up early, put on work clothes, have a quick breakfast, commute to work -- and then, as routinely as many of us go to the office and boot up the computer, get on a long-haul plane. Look at their faces. They are not scared or nervous -- it's just another day on the job. If they're not worried that their 55,000 years are up, why should we be? Once upon a time, a Douglas DC-3 took off from Nicosia to Athens marking Cyprus Airways' first flight. 70 years later, at the same time, 10:00, Cobalt Air took off from the same county to the same destination marking the beginning of a new era for aviation in Cyprus. What are the most luxurious and expensive first class airlines in the world? Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Description: This particular video will probably make you feel really, really poor. But at the same time, will give you a new lease on life and goal to achieve. Flying first class is always an extra luxury that people with money can enjoy in their air travel. You can’t beat first class with the wider seats, the beverages, better food, and service that makes you feel like you’re royalty. If you’re flying across the country, then first class is definitely more comfortable, and you rarely have to deal with the tiny seats and being forced to be in closed quarters with complete strangers. But there are airlines who have taken the concept of first class and bumped it up a notched. Here are some of the most luxurious first class sections in the airline industry. The cost? Well, let’s just say you’ll probably have to save your salary for the next several years to be able to afford it. For $13,000 you can be a premiere passenger on an Air France flight, which includes a space where you can store all of your valuables, along with a bed, a reading lamp, and curtains so you can have some privacy. Quantas Airlines has a set up similar to that and puts it on steroids. If you’ve ever wanted to have the feeling like you’re on your very own jet, Quantas is the way to go with your own privacy pod that comes with its own suite, as well as a common area for wealthy passengers to get together and mingle. This can be all yours for $13,500. Ever wanted to know what it’s like to be tucked into bed by a flight attendant? Well, Singapore Airlines does just that. You’re immediately given pajamas that are designed by Givenchy, and toiletries by Ferragamo. Your seat can also be transformed into a fluffy bed, where the flight attendants will see to it that you’re tucked in and comfy. Tickets for this experience starts at $15,000. For $25,000, you can have the ultimate first class experience with Cathay Pacific Airlines, where you can have your own pod. This includes a chair that silently transforms into a full length bed. The pod is also adorned with a vase with orchids, so you feel a bit more at home and close to nature. Lufthansa has taken the first class game and improved it. Not only do you get a big comfy chair, but you get a bed as well. The chair is pumped with gadgets as well for your enjoyment. You don’t even have to worry about breathing dry air, as the cabin is pumped with a humidifier. Tickets for this experience starts at $27,000. Finally, these last two airlines are basically like flying hotel rooms. Emirates Airlines offers a private cabin with a mini bar, adjustable lighting, as well as a full shower with a marble sink. So if you really need to freshen up, it’s a lot better than the tiny bathroom in coach. They even have a communal lounge where you can enjoy drinks and hors d’ouerves. All of this can be yours for $30,000. Finally, we have Etihad Airways, who have diamond first class suites with three room cabins. These cabins also include a full size bathroom with a luxurious shower. You can even have your own butler! What’s the cost? $43,000. How to sleep easily on a plane? People who can easily fall asleep on a plane are among the lucky few because most of us aren’t able to doze off in a cramped space, sitting in such an uncomfortable position and surrounded by total strangers. What if we told you there are some simple tricks that can help you catch some Z’s on board? Who knew that flying on a Tuesday or keeping your seat belt fastened could actually make a difference? TIMESTAMPS Night is the best time for a flight 0:34 The best days to fly are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 1:27 The perfect seat is by the window 2:16 Tilt your seat back to the max 3:17 Clothes should be warm and comfortable 3:58 Fasten your seat belt over your clothes 4:43 Get yourself some sleeping accessories 5:25 Control the scents around you 6:05 Put your gadgets away 6:59 Food and drinks 7:34 SUMMARY - It’s great if you can pick a flight for the time you usually sleep at. Wake up 2-3 hours earlier on the day of your flight to help you fall asleep faster on board later on. - If you want fewer passengers and more space, pick the most unpopular days for booking flights: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as a rule. You might even get up to 3 seats to yourself! - Always try to pick a window seat to rest your head on the wall and not be bothered by your neighbor wanting to get up to go to the bathroom. If you normally sleep on your left side, aim for seat A. If your right side is your preferred sleeping position, pick the window seat on the opposite side of the plane. - If you want good quality sleep in the cabin, adjust your seat as far back as it’ll go. Just make sure the person behind you doesn’t mind. - To have a sound nap onboard, you should wear loose clothes made of natural materials that don’t constrict your movements. If your airline doesn’t provide blankets, take a jacket and warm socks too. - A seat belt fastened over your clothes or blanket won’t make your sleep more comfortable, but it will prevent flight attendants from waking you up if the plane experiences turbulence. - Light and noise are the main culprits that keep you from getting needed shuteye. So this answer might be obvious: use a sleeping mask and earplugs! - You can control the scents in your immediate surrounding. Just sprinkle the head rest or your travel pillow with some lavender oil or any other essential oil you like. - Don’t watch movies on your phone, tablet, or laptop because the blue light of the screen wakes your brain up. Most sleep experts say you should put away all your electronics at least half an hour, or, better yet, an hour before you plan on dozing off. - If you want to be fast asleep, don’t overeat onboard. The food should be light and healthy, while the best drink option is tea (the herbal variety is perfect) or just plain water. Have your own tricks to share? Tesla chief Elon Musk’s corporate jet flew more than 150,000 miles last year, or more than six times around the Earth, as he raced between the outposts of his futuristic empire during what he has called “the most painful year” of his career, according to flight records obtained by The Washington Post. Flying at hypersonic speed could revolutionize transportation, but there are incredible engineering and logistical challenges we need to get through first. So, how close are we to hypersonic travel? How Close Are We? Playlist - https://youtu.be/ZW_YCWLyv6A Boeing's planned hypersonic airliner could fly from NYC to London in two hours https://www.nbcnews.com/mach/science/boeing-s-planned-hypersonic-airliner-could-fly-nyc-london-two-ncna887111 “Boeing has unveiled plans for what could be the world’s first hypersonic airliner, a sleek, futuristic-looking craft that the Seattle-based company said would be capable of flying five times the speed of sound, or about 3,800 miles per hour. At that speed — Mach 5 in aviation parlance — it would be possible to travel from New York City to London in about two hours instead of the eight hours the trip takes on a conventional airliner” NASA Armstrong Fact Sheet: X-15 Hypersonic Research Program https://www.nasa.gov/centers/armstrong/news/FactSheets/FS-052-DFRC.html “These experiments - 28 of them - ranged from astronomy to micrometeorite collection. They included tests of horizon definition and proposed insulation that bore fruit in the navigation equipment and thermal protection used on the Saturn launch vehicles in the Apollo program, which dispatched 12 astronauts to the moon and back. Among the 12 was Neil Armstrong, the first human to step on the moon's surface and a former X-15 pilot who also flew many other research aircraft at the Flight Research Center.” Air-breathing planes: the spaceships of the future? https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn16682-air-breathing-planes-the-spaceships-of-the-future/ “A popular solution to this problem is the scramjet, which does not slow air down very much, but instead quickly mixes the fast-flowing air with fuel together to create thrust. But scramjets are only useful above Mach 5, meaning another system, perhaps a conventional rocket, is needed to propel the plane to hypersonic speeds.” _______________________________________________________________ How close are we to colonizing the moon, mapping the human brain and curing cancer? For my Lifehack on how to fly business class cheap check out the Lifehack video I made about that. How to fly business class cheap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEMF-7o_7_Y My name is Mike I am a travel vlogger youtuber and entrepreneur and in the past few months I have traveled to Bangkok, Bali, Cape Town, London, Munich all over the world. Because we travel so much, I developed a booking technique that saves us a ton of money every time we fly. In the past year I have booked almost one hundred flights online. And I’m going to share all me tricks with you today. Not only am I going to show you how to book cheap economy and coach but also how to get cheap business class and first class flights. Using the tricks I am going to give you today you are never going to overpay for a flight ever again. So if you are wanting to save money on airline tickets or trying to put together a luxury vacation - this video is for you. So before I get started with my booking tricks I want to ask you to smash that thumbs up button for this video and subscribe to my channel. I am a daily vlogger and together with my girlfriend we travel the whole world always on the go and we have fun upbeat travel vlogs and daily vlogs. Be sure to check them out after this video and stay subscribed to my channel there is a lot of fun content coming your way. When talking about how to fly cheap there are a few factors that you have to consider. One of them is where you are traveling from and where you are traveling to and how flexible are you with your departure airport and destination airport. The second thing is how flexibel are you with your date of travel. The more flexibility the easier it is to find cheap airline tickets. Another key factor to finding cheap flight is actually to find the best booking sites. But really the secret to cheap flights is combining all of those factors into one magic booking strategy. If you want to fly cheap you’ve got to be smart. So as I mentioned flexibility when booking airline tickets is one of the key factors in actually succeeding in finding the cheapest flights. That in term means finding the best booking sites means finding the most flexibel booking sites. There are some good options out there like flights.google.com or kayak.com. They let you enter 3-5 departure airports and 3-5 destination airports and you can be fairly flexible on the travel date. but for what we are looking for that is not good enough. Also many of the booking sites don’t show you all of the airfares because some of the fares are so discounted that the booking site wouldn’t get any commissions anymore. So found another secret to cheap airfare. Finding those fares that not even the booking sites have. Well I stumbled upon a website that combines all those factors into one beautiful beautiful packet . An airplane ticket for $5 seems to be nonsense but not when you know how to search! Bright Side brings you some wonderful ways to find the cheapest option for your flight. At the end of the video, we’ve included a list of the best search engines to help you buy an airplane ticket for the price of a movie ticket! Have you ever heard, for example, about hidden city ticketing? This is well known to experienced travelers: they hide their destination in the middle of the route. If you need to get to Istanbul, don’t rush to book a direct flight. Sometimes, a flight to Rome with a transfer in Istanbul may be much cheaper! Other videos you might like: That's Why Airplane Seats Are Almost Always Blue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0esI1IrxCmk& Pilots Reveal 16 Nuances That Make Your Flight Safe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVYXErxau-U& What Would Happen If Plane Doors Opened? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S2_Plu0e2M& TIMESTAMPS: The best time to buy 0:37 Airline system failures 1:15 The 24-hour rule 2:02 The cheapest airlines 2:31 A hidden city feature 3:36 Cheap ticket search engines 3:58 SUMMARY: - The 60-day rule works perfectly. Look for your flight not later than 1.5 to 2 months before the trip. Buy tickets on dates from mid-January until early March. - Try to purchase your tickets on Tuesdays between 2 and 4 pm. Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons are when the ticket prices are lowest. If you’re planning a weekend flight, it’s best to buy your tickets on a Friday night or Saturday. - It’s not a law by any means — more of luck. It’s almost impossible to buy a ticket to the city you need with the help of a system error, but it’s perfect for a spontaneous vacation. - Check the same flight the next morning after you’ve booked it because search engines often set filters to default and may suggest cheaper options. If the price is lower, you can cancel your booking and re-purchase your ticket. - Ryanair, one of the most popular budget airlines in Europe, is well known for its crazy discounts. Recently it said that its flights might become free before 2020! - Use other search engines too, rather than only the low-cost airlines as they track budget airlines and system errors. However, don’t forget to check the airline companies’ websites — on rare occasions their fares might be lower. Lifestyles have changed and women travel all over the world when they are pregnant. Flight travel is thought to be safe during pregnancy.. It also depends on the gestation of pregnancy. In the first three months, it is safe to travel, but we have to ensure that the pregnancy is in the uterus and not outside, i.e ectopic pregnancy. . It is also better to avoid flight travel during last 4 weeks of pregnancy, i.e after 36 weeks of pregnancy, it becomes slightly unsafe to travel by flight. From eight weeks to thirty six weeks, it is safe to travel by flight until and unless your doctor says No. The doctor can say No if you have a low lying placenta, any other complications that can land you in pre-term labor or if you have sickle cell anemia.. If its a short flight, get up after 30 or 45 minutes and talk a walk in the aircraft so that the blood does not clot into your legs. Keep yourselves well hydrated. avoid coffee and fizzy drinks during the flight. If its a long flight, please discuss with your doctor. she might put you on heparin which is an anti coagulant which will not allow the blood to clot into you legs. There are also stockings available these days which do not allow the blood to clot..

Today on Fit Rahe India, Dr Reenu Jain busts the myths associated with risks involved during air travel for pregnant women. Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner full flight review, from Singapore to Delhi as AI381. This flight takes 5 hours and 25 minutes, with a morning 8.30am departure from Singapore. Breakfast is served onboard, with a choice of vegetarian or non-vegetarian. Hot coffee and tea are served later. Some bad turbulence occurred during the meal service, halting the service. I enjoyed the entertainment system which is very touch-responsive and offers a decent variety of Hollywood, international, Bollywood and Indian regional movies. The B787 Dreamliner seat is very comfortable, with good legroom, a footrest and charging points. It was a cosy journey to Delhi. Thank you for watching this Air India flight review on FlightTravels. Why can’t we fly a plane into space, what stops it from just flying higher and higher until we are in space?, sounds like a daft question but it has interesting implications that mean we might not be that far from a plane that can fly into space. Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/curiousdroid Paypal.me : https://www.paypal.me/curiousdroid You can now translate this and other curious droid videos, see my video about it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLPVgIytKyg Well, there several issues but assuming we are in something like a normal jet airliner, then one of the main problems is the air, or lack of it as we get closer to space. A plane flies because as it is propelled forward, the wings, which are shaped to make the air flow faster over the top of them than the bottom, generate lift. As the plane goes faster the wings create more lift and when the lift is greater than the weight of the plane, it will climb up into the air. For our plane to continue to climb it needs more speed to increase the lift. If you throttle back on the speed a bit, the plane will settle in to level flight and if you decrease the speed the plane will start to fall as lift from the wings is not enough to overcome the weight of the plane.
