Fun fact: This game is in pre-alpha development. Details coming much, much later...
NOTE: On July 17, 2012 at 6:57 P.M. Central Time, I learned of a similar Touhou fangame called "Marine Benefit", which follows virtually the same structure as Endless Blue, but with an entirely different story/set of characters. The concept for Endless Blue has been with me since April of 2011, but Marine Benefit was released in May of 2012, so any similarities between Endless Blue and Marine Benefit are entirely coincidental. Besides, if there can be multiple games about scarlet mists in the Touhou series, there can be multiple aquatic incidents. (And just to play fair, I want to make the Marine Benefit characters an unlockable team for clearing the game.)
I had this song/concept locked away for a while, only showing it occasionally on Ustream, but here it is: the "Touhou: Endless Blue" original soundtrack. Mind you, this is not for a real game: this is a fake soundtrack for a game I *wish* I could make (if you know how to program, either collaborate with me or steal the idea for yourself: just *make it real*). For the full story/game concept, check out the DevArt page at http://fav.me/d57nrkl
Music Menu Notes: This theme starts out calmly enough as the characters, who have never seen a sea before (not counting the ones who've seen one briefly in Silent Sinner in Blue), stroll along this scenic path. Then, things pick up rapidly as they encounter swarms of fairies and other monsters, then eventually crescendo when the Stage 1 boss, Gale Maelstrom, makes her first appearance. Essentially, it's a song about a vacation gone horribly wrong (or horribly right if you're up for that kind of thing).
Instruments used: Roland TTS-1 and a soundfont remake of the Romantic Tr patch.
